History

Since its inception in 1994, Communication Power Solutions (CPS) has dedicated its efforts to providing DC power products and engineering solutions for companies in the telecommunications industry. CPS offers products, installation, and engineering services. On the product side, the primary sales tool has been a complete line of GNB Valve Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) sealed industrial batteries.

In 1995 CPS gained the position of qualified and preferred vendor of batteries to a buying consortium for some of the largest telecommunication companies in the United States, including Bell Atlantic Mobile (now Verizon wireless), Air Touch, PrimeCo, and their affiliates.

In 1999, this contract was expanded to include battery testing, installation and removal. CPS also offers DC/DC converter shelves, and through an alliance with a major cabinet manufacturer in the Phoenix area, provides customized enclosures to house batteries, rectifiers, converters or other telecommunication equipment. A line of Magnetek rectifiers, controllers and system components has recently been added to compliment these equipment offerings. CPS has also expanded its capabilities and offers installation, and commissioning at both cellular and fiber-optic sites. This experience has included wireless radio installation, power bay and ironworks layout and installation, and fiber optic equipment installation and commissioning. CPS has an outstanding record of sales and service to major telecommunication companies, and we continue to place emphasis on added value by providing engineering solutions to meet the needs and requirements of this rapidly growing industry.
